August’s competition was a rover with anglers being able to either settle at any beach or move if they so wished from beach to beach. Fishing hours were declared as being form 18:00 hrs to 23:59 hrs, with the post-match meeting point set as Home Bush Car Park Lyme Regis.
Throughout the evening and across the region from Portland Bill and Chesil Beach to Branscombe, anglers had varying degrees of success, for most though it was best described as being a “slow” evening!
Species caught were Mackerel, Undulate Rays, Scad, Congers, Dober Sole, Tub Gurnard, Dogfish, and Bull Huss.
Many of the landed were undersize but most returned alive to the sea after photographs were taken.
The winner on the night was Azi Khan, followed by Julian Driver, with Tim Mitcham, Adam Cawley, Mike Davis, Michael Hackman, Gary Marsh, Phil Richards all recording points on the night.
